A Dow e-mini futures 20-pointer

I usually only target 5-10 ticks when day trading Dow e-mini futures, sometimes even less if I see that the default target of 5 ticks might be unreachable, but today I decided to try something new.

I wasn't planning it. Not at all. I simply realized that a position I just put on (the last one in the screenshot you see below) could easily reach 20 ticks (or points, as 1 tick is the same as 1 point in the Dow e-mini futures contract).

And so it did. After a bit of gyrations about the entry price, it finally summoned all the market forces to go boldly where very few of my YM trades have gone before. And it took it only about 20 minutes to reach the target which is not that bad. Given some more time, it could have even reached 40 points, but let's not be too greedy.

The screenshot above shows not only the 20-pointer in question, but also 3 quickies, that is, trades that do not take more than a minute to reach the target of 5 or more ticks. It was a good day, as more volatile days tend to be.
